One week later

Mikayla moved into her dorm one week ago today. It has been a month-long week for her with all the activities she attended. I am sure the time flew.

For me, it was an almost regular work week. I stayed home on Wednesday so that I could take Ben to the surgery center. He was having his deviated septum fixed. He has done fine. They must have developed a new anesthesia because he didn't feel groggy, wasn't sick to his stomach and was very coherent when we got home. He was worse off a couple of years ago when he had his wisdom teeth pulled. The surgeon said that Ben was one of the worse cases he has done, so we are expecting his quality of life to improve when he is healed. Being able to breathe through your nose is a real treat if you haven't been able to for years.

I have two more weeks with Ben before he goes back to school Two more weeks to be a hands-on parent. Not that I parent Ben much but just having him around makes me feel like a parent. The house will be way too quiet when he leaves.
