A full house, again!

It has been a busy week, busier than most. School takes up a lot of time, filling it with busy work, assignments, readings, and keeping track of it all. The classes are five weeks long, so I am two fifths done with my first class. So far I haven't been overwhelmed, but have stayed up too late to get assignments in on time. It seems funny to be saying to my college kids that I am swamped with homework, too. That is their line and I feel like I am copycatting them.

The other, and much more important thing that has happened this week is that two girls we have known their whole lives have moved in with us. Sara, the older one, grew up with Ben. She lived next door to us when Ben was two years old and they were best friends. She and her sister, Michelle, who is 16 moved in last weekend. Their home life became absolutely unbearable, so now they live with us. How these two young women have turned out so sweet, caring, smart, and loving coming from their background is just amazing. They are a joy to have around, even as we are working out the emotional havoc they are still experiencing.

Sara works full time as a waitress and goes to college. She is not around much, but her little sister Michelle is. Michelle is finishing up her junior year at high school. She is extremely bright.

Mikayla comes home for the summer next weekend. She is excited to have two sisters. It is going to be a full house, again.

Sara and Michelle have spent a lot of time at our house. When they were 14 and 7 they lived with us for three months. I am not sure how long they will be with us but Scott and I hope we can help them through this difficult time in their lives.
