Lost Evening

Lost was the theme for last night. I came home after dark and could not find Hip Hop, our rabbit that we let out every morning to nibble around the yard all day until we catch him and put him back in his cage every evening. He is a very friendly bunny, and comes up to people in the yard to be petted, unless it is around dusk when he knows that it is almost time to go back in his cage. Then he hides either under the dog house or in some corner of the yard behind a barrier of spider webs. I went inside, thinking Scott could help me find him when he came home. When Scott came home, Hip Hop was weary of hide-and-seek and Scott easily caught him and put him away.

Later that evening when I was getting ready for bed, Scott told me that Koby, our dog, got out. Scott took the bike around the block looking for him, but could not find him. We got in the car, and as I drove, Scott shone the flashlight in neighbor's yards looking for the wanderer. After driving around for 20 minutes, we went home dogless. Koby finally showed up several hours later.

Andy came home late in the evening, too. He had been on his own when we took Ben to college on the weekend. He had lost his way while we were gone. It is Andy's story, so I won't go into it, but he is now finding his way back. We are supporting him in every way we can.

Now that the rabbit, the dog and the kid are all back home, I think I will be able to sleep better tonight.
