Sunday, March 30th

Another week is being put to bed, with the month following close behind. As I get older, a year is a smaller and smaller piece of my life, making it seem to go faster and faster. Fractions of years, such as months and weeks, are even smaller. For children, the shores of a new year seem beyond a distant horizon, and the weeks are moored in the sea of eternity. But from where I am perched, the shores of the new year seem across a pond, not an ocean. I already am thinking that summer is soon, and fall not far off. But my "other daughter", Michelle, thinks summer is so far away. She has counted the days until school's out and they seem interminable.

It seems like I wake up and it is Monday and before I know it, people at work are saying, "TGIF!" My days are full of meetings, appointments, projects, paperwork, walks, conversations, time to read, time to watch a little TV, meals, sleep (never enough of that!) yet the weeks don't seem full as much as they seem short.

I started a new volunteer project. It is with Distributed Proofreaders, where volunteers can proofread pages of books that will be uploaded to sites like Project Gutenberg, which has the largest collection of free electronic books. I am just learning to use the site, but I like contributing to it. Right now, I have been working on a children's book that was published in the early 1900s. It's main characters are named Eyebright and Wealthy. I try to do a few pages a day.

There is a way to link the above mentioned sites to this blog, but I haven't figured it out yet. If someone can explain the html code to do it, I would be very grateful.

The sand clock has almost run the week out. It is time to stop the game and go to bed. G'night.
